Laveno is situated, just in the middle of Lake Maggiore, in a large gulf on the slopes of
Monte Sasso del Ferro and includes the inhabited areas of Laveno (2,500 in.),
Mombello Lago Maggiore (3,000 in.) and Cerro Lago Maggiore (500 in.), the
agglomerations of Ceresolo and Ponte (3,000 in.), and panoramic and hilly areas
such as the Cascine (490 m), Monteggia (394 m), Casere (768 m), Montecristo and
Brena (334 m). The three small towns of Laveno, Mombello Lago Maggiore and
Cerro Lago Maggiore were merged into the municipality of LAVENO MOMBELLO in
1927 (Lavén Mumbèl in local dialect). The municipality is in the province of
Varese (The “province of the Seven Lakes”), with an area of 25.9 square Km, an
elevation of 200 m and   about 9000 inhabitants, is one of the most
important climate, tourist, cultural and historical centers of Lake Maggiore.
Laveno is at the foot of Monte Sasso del Ferro and around the small gulf delimited
by the S. Michele point and Monte Brianza. To the south, the small center of
Cerro (Scèr in local dialect) on the lake, with Ceresolo  (Scèresöö). Still south of Laveno, inland, on
a small plateau, Mombello.

   BEACH RONCO DELLE MONACHE - MACCAGNO

  BEACH OF THE CARAVALLE – RANCO  

Located on the road that leads from the lakeside of Angera to Ranco, it is a partly stony and partly grassy beach.
On the beach there are numerous trees that make it ideal for those who like to spend whole days at the Lake, sheltering in the shade during the hottest hours.
It is a free beach, without services. Parking is free along the road that runs along the beach.

  BEACH LIDO LA NOCE - ANGERA

The beach of Lido "La Noce" is at the end of the lakefront, a few steps from the historic center of Angera, along the road that leads to Ranco.

 BEACH LIDO DI LISANZA - SESTO CALENDE

It is one of the most southern beaches on the Lombardy side of Lake Maggiore, just a few minutes drive from Castelletto Sopra Ticino, one of the most popular shopping centers on Lake Maggiore.

In addition, some smaller beaches, not equipped, less known and less frequented in Laveno Mombello:

Beach of the Madonnine / Sasso Galletto
rocky beach, you have to follow a path that begins just before the last tunnel to Caldè (Castelveccana), suggestive with the erratic boulder of Sasso Galletto. You must park in the open space on the left before the tunnel. Then follow the pavement in the tunnel for a few meters and the short path begins to the left.

3 Fette di Polenta
There are 3 rocks that look like three slices of Polenta, a typical dish from northern Italy. Suitable for diving, not suitable for children. It is located just before the start of the first gallery for Caldè (Castelveccana), coming from Laveno, on the left. There is no space for cars

Olive Beach
It is located in Via Luino after the Rianne beach, coming from Laveno. It can only be reached on foot from the Rianne square.

Rianne Beach
In via Luino. On the left there is an open space where you can park. You must take a short path with a wall on the right.

Fortino beach
It is located in Via Fortino and is signposted on the right coming from Laveno. On the left a small clearing to park. You have to go down a staircase.

ENEL Cabin Beach
It is located in Via Fortino and is not signposted on the right coming from Laveno. On the left a very small space to park. You have to go down a staircase. Near the lake there is an unexpected cabin for electricity that is no longer in use.

Public Beach between Fortino and Cerro
It is located in Via Fortino and is signposted on the right coming from Laveno. On the left a very small space to park. You have to go down a staircase.  

Via Pescatori beach

It is located in Via Pescatori in Cerro after the portico. Very small.

S. Defendente beach

Once you reach the small church of S. Defendente, take the path that goes down towards the lake. It is practicable only when the lake is low. Very small.
